What can I expect at interview?

This will depend on the job you’ve applied for. The interview process will usually be in two stages and might involve things like a competency-based interview, an assessment event, store familiarisation visits or on-the-job evaluations.

So that you understand exactly what’s required, our Resourcing Team will discuss all this with you during the recruitment process. They’ll also provide you with any extra material you might need.

If I don’t get the job, can I apply again?

You can, but you’ll need to wait until six months after your initial application before you can.

Do you take up employment references?

We do. We have a responsibility to protect our business, employees and customers. So everyone who’s offered a job at Homebase has to undergo a verification process. The checks vary according to the vacancy and include current/previous employment, education, residency, and relevant professional qualifications. Unfortunately, if the results don’t match what you’ve told us, we’ll have to withdraw our offer.
