Where could I work?

 

We have over 260 Homebase stores, covering the whole of the UK and Republic of Ireland. You can find your nearest one with our store locator.

We also have field-based roles and career opportunities at our Store Support Centre in Milton Keynes.

What opportunities are there for career progression?

There are many opportunities to progress at Homebase. All opportunities appear on our intranet before being advertised externally, and we make sure we interview all suitable internal applicants.

What training and development will I receive?

You’ll receive all the training you need to do your job – and do it well. Your line manager will also help you create a tailored development plan based around your skills and ambitions.

Development is a two-way process at Homebase. While we’ll give you all the support you need, it’s up to you take the initiative, put yourself out there and make the most of the opportunities we have to offer.

Do you offer sponsorship for educational qualifications?

You can apply to be sponsored for an educational qualification that relates to your role or is agreed as part of your development plan. Normally this would be by distance learning or evening study.

How do I apply for a role?

First take a couple of minutes to register on this website and upload your CV.

Once you’ve done that, you can apply for any job you see featured here – simply click ‘apply now’ on any vacancy and you’ll be taken to the registration page, where you’ll be able to answer some screening questions and submit your application.

Can I register for job alerts or send you my CV in case a job opens up?

We don’t generally encourage people to send us speculative CVs. It’s better to apply for a live vacancy. You can find out about opportunities as they arise by registering online and signing up for job alerts for roles that interest you.

Can I apply for more than one role at a time?

Sure. But only pick the ones that are a close match for your specific skills and experience – otherwise your application won’t get anywhere.

How do I apply for non-management roles in Homebase stores?

Within our retail business area, we often recruit our team members directly in store, although some of our roles are on this careers site. We usually have a variety of store opportunities – part-time and full-time, temporary and permanent. The best course of action is to see if the role you want is available here and apply online, if not approach your local store directly and speak to a member of the management team, who will be able to tell you about any current vacancies.

Do you offer work experience placements in your stores?

A number of our stores do provide this, but it’s up to them. Please contact your local Homebase store to enquire about any work experience opportunities they may have available.

How old do I need to be to start a job at Homebase?

The minimum age to work here is 16.

How often is the website updated?

We usually have new vacancies to advertise every few days, so if there’s nothing to suit you at present, it’s well worth checking back on a regular basis.
