Overview:

This particular role is required to manage the inbound supply of domestic orders, liaising between suppliers, the store support centre and distribution centre.

Main responsibilities:

Liaise with the demand teams and distribution centre's to produce and maintain inbound delivery schedules.

Optimise depot service levels and distribution costs through the effective management of internal appointments diary, ensuring agreed inbound volumes are not exceeded

Report on adherence to agreed appointment schedules and vendor compliance in order that demand teams can challenge and improve performance.

Prioritise requests for rebooking vendor failures

Effectively deal with queries from the demand teams and vendors regarding inbound for distribution centres.

Ensure new article introduction into depots is managed in a controlled manner, taking into account article characteristics, anticipated volumes, packaging, pack size and DC constraints.

Investigate all non-conformance instances and report appropriately.

Daily liaison with the DC’s to act as their Store Support Centre representative

Monthly visits to the DC’s to identify operational issues

Based on a rota system early starts will required to ensure performance reporting is available each Monday morning

Your skills & qualifications will ideally include:

Strong numerical and analytical skills

Spreadsheet skills (Microsoft Excel)

Knowledge of importation process

Results orientated

Understanding of UK road haulage requirements

Knowledge of retail environment desirable

Previous DTS / Port centric experience is advantageous
