In order to build on current programmes and support new initiatives moving forward, we have an opportunity for a Community Involvement Coordinator to join our recently new and enterprising team within the Marketing function.
This is a fixed term contract covering Maternity Leave and within it you will support with the implementation and development of community involvement and sustainability programs between internal and external parties, with a focus on water, energy, waste reduction and other community / environmental initiatives.
Experience within a marketing/communications team would be beneficial as would an appreciation for the retail landscape but most importantly, a passion for community, charity and the environment is essential.
The implementation of marketing communication plans for projects across a spectrum of community / environmental initiatives
Seeking input, guidance and support from across the business in order to achieve objectives, creating supporting material that focus on driving recognition for community / environmental programmes
Building and maintaining a variety of relationships across the business and liaising with team members as required in order to implement projects
Demonstrate and communicate a high level of awareness of sustainability trends – internationally, locally and within the marketing and comms discipline
Work with the wider comms teams internally and Wesfarmers in Australia as required to provide information for sustainability reporting. Maintaining all contact databases, information, communication and research material to ensure accuracy and quality of data
Working with store teams to gather relevant information and maintaining all reporting databases, communication and research materials.
Relevant experience working within marketing or comms would be beneficial
A demonstrable understanding and genuine interest in community sustainability issues
Strong written and verbal communication skills and relevant experience in the development of comms tools, i.e.; Promotional campaigns, information packs and trade collateral.
Confident and organised, with the ability to communicate to a variety of partners at all levels
Ability to take initiative and make recommendations based on information gathered
