What will be expected of you?
To lead an allocated shift with accountability for health and safety and the receipt, assembly and loading operations for all products, including Home Delivery and Horticulture
To establish, agree and deliver challenging performance objectives across all elements of the operation, ensuring corporate standards for quality, health and safety and people management/ development are maintained.
What will be your main responsibilities?
To lead, manage and coach an allocated shift to ensure service targets and legal compliance obligations are achieved, improvement opportunities are implemented and capability is in place to satisfy both customer and corporate requirements
To create and sustain a safe working environment and culture, ensuring all statutory requirements are adhered to and exceeded where possible
To pro-actively seek effective ways of reducing variable costs, such as labour, damage, accidents, stock integrity etc
To constantly evaluate the aims and objectives of the shift and work positively with the team to achieve these
To ensure the credibility of the distribution function and the site is maintained through developing effective relationships with key stakeholders
To set clear targets, measure and drive enhanced operational performance, providing regular feedback and celebrating achievement
To develop and sustain appropriate working relationships which foster a team working environment, engaging colleagues across the shift
To drive team and individual development in line with the Company HR strategy and performance management processes
To deputise for the Site Operations Manager in his/her absence

37.5 hours, any 5 of 7 days on shift. Shifts are 06:00 to 14:00 or 14:00 to 22:00 and there is an expectation for a brief handover either side of the shift.
