I used to be a Store Manager for another retailer, but I didn’t really enjoy it. I was attracted to Homebase because it looked after its staff and I thought it could offer the progression I was looking for. I wasn’t disappointed: I started out as a Service Manager, but I worked my way up and before long I was Store Manager at the Wick branch. Then, about two months ago, an amazing opportunity came up to work at the Head Office.

“A large part of my current role is analysing customer survey data for our stores. For example, recently I’ve been using survey results to add to the knowledge of our staff and help improve customer service. One of the best things is that I can feel my work has a real impact, not just on one store, but on branches throughout the country.”

“I’d wanted to get a role in the Head Office for a long time, so it’s genuinely satisfying to feel that my hard work has paid off. And now I’m here, I’ve got no intention of going anywhere soon. I want to learn as much as I can in this role. Now’s an especially good time for that actually, because we’ve got so many exciting changes on the way, like new technology initiatives and new stores.”
