To lead the site logistics agenda to add value to the business. To establish, agree and deliver challenging performance objectives across all elements of the operation, ensuring corporate standards for quality, health and safety and people management/ development are maintained. Additionally, this role is part of the Distribution Leadership Team, responsible for developing the wider network agenda, inclusive of 3PL management
What will I be doing?
To create and sustain a safe working environment and culture, ensuring all statutory requirements are adhered to and exceeded where possible
To provide the highest level of service to our stores at lowest effective cost
To pro-actively seek effective ways of reducing variable costs, such as labour, damage, accidents, stock integrity etc.
To work with the Distribution Leadership Team to identify and lead Network based improvement projects
To create, deliver and own an annual operating budget which fully supports the needs of the site
To develop relationships with key stakeholders e.g. retail, finance, other network DC’s, to embed a continuous improvement focus and agree cross functional ways of working
To know the legal and compliance responsibilities of the position and ensure those in areas of responsibility understand and adhere to the compliance responsibilities of their jobs
To develop and sustain appropriate working relationships which foster a team working environment, engaging colleague across the function
To drive team and individual development in line with the Company HR strategy and performance management processes
